Story People – A bit of a stretch
A popular annual event on the Dreamhouse calendar is the intergenerational story-sharing morning tea and verbatim performance. ‘Story People – A bit of a stretch’ was a continuation of our previous story sharing events, originally part of the ‘A Woman’s Place’ mini festival. The event took place over the weekend of April 23 & 24 at the Southern Peninsula Arts Centre. Stories were gathered in the weeks leading up to the event, via various modes. Stories from the morning tea were recorded and transcribed by Carole and Jane in 24 hours.
An intergenerational cast, including members of the Dreamhouse ensemble, professional actors and community members, presented a performed reading to a live audience.
